Late last season, Jason Day switched from his TaylorMade R15 driver to the company’s new M1 — a noteworthy change considering Day ranked third in driving distance at the time at 314.1 yards. The move, however, has proven fruitful for Day.
Such was the case at the Arnold Palmer Invitational where Day averaged 305.1 yards off the tee (ranked sixth) and found more than two-thirds of the fairways.
The TaylorMade M1 features two weight tracks, one in the front that runs from heel to toe and one behind that running front to back. Day has the weights in both tracks in the neutral position.
