Bill Barrett PGA

My name is Bill Barrett and I consider myself to be one of the luckiest people in the world! I have been playing golf since I was 5 years old. I had very successful amateur and collegiate careers before declaring professional status in 1981. I have enjoyed playing and teaching the game for over 47 years.
My father, Boyd Barrett, taught golf for 50 years. My sister, Sharon Barrett, played on the LPGA Tour for 18 years and was a winner on the Tour. Following her retirement from the LPGA tour, Sharon taught golf for 13 years.
I have been teaching golf for over 31 years. This gives me a firm understanding of what works and doesn’t work for my clients. Golf technology may change over the years; however, the basic fundamentals are key. Two components in a lesson is to keep it simple and make sure the person is having fun.
I don’t know too many golf families that have more than 100 years of experience playing and teaching the game. I welcome an opportunity to make you a better player.

I was introduced to golf by my father, Boyd Barrett, at the age of 5. Growing up, you would find me six or seven days a week at Cottonwood Golf Course in El Cajon, California just east of San Diego. I began playing in San Diego Junior Golf tournament where the game instilled discipline and a strong work ethic. I knew immediately this is what I wanted to do for a career. I consider myself to be one of the most fortunate people in this world as I have been able to make a career of playing and teaching the game of golf. It is an incredible game. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
